U may also add prawns, cooked chicken, squid, fish balls, bean sprouts, boiled potatoes, cabbage or diced tofu.....
I just used :
300 gm yellow mee (washed and drained)
2 tbsp chiili boh ( dry chilli paste) - or lesser if u want a milder version
1 big onion (sliced)
2 green chillies (sliced)
5 cloved garlic (crushed)
1 bunch of sawi (mustard leaves) - cut into 2 inch pieces
2 fish cakes (sliced)
1 egg (beaten)
dark soy sauce
light soy sauce
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
oil
salt
Heat oil in a pan...add onion, green chilies and saute for about 2 mins.. Add in chilli paste and garlic...Let it cook in oil for a bit till chilli smell goes off....add in the fish cakes and cook a little
Add in the mee, mustard leaves, about 1/2 tbsp dark soy sause (add more or less depending on the darkness of your soy sauce), 2 dashes of light soy sauce, tomato ketchup, a bit of salt and mix well to coat everything....Later pour the beaten egg in and mix everything together till egg and mee cooked..taste and adjust the salt.....
Once everything's well coated and slightly dry, turn off heat and ready to serve..
